Standardgraph Holunderblau (elder blue)

Rhapsody

Recommended Posts

Hi, this is my first ink review, so bear with me!

I hope the review is legible. My scanner produces really bad scans so I tried to take a photo, but even that is quite hard with a broken display (my cats found that dangling band so interesting) and no view finder.

If you wonder why my thumb looks so weird on that photo: I tried to edit the colour of the ink to match the original better, but unfortunately my thumb also changed the colour.

I tried several sizes, you should be able to read this but it shouldn't be too big. It's not as easy as I thought before...

If there are any questions concerning this review, please ask! :)

I don't know for sure, since I found that shop coincidently.

But it's quite possible that it was Ortloff.

I looked it up now and yes, it was Ortloff.

They have the biggest ink selection I've seen in a non-online shop so far.

If you check out stift & papier at richmodstr.7 behind the thalia bookshop at neumarkt in cologne, they also have most if not all of the de atramentis inks. I always rotate between them, ortloff and the füllfederzentrale near the gürzenich.

Wish list: Aurora Optima

Current inked Pens: Pilot Decimo - Noodlers BBH, MB Mozart - MB Lavender

Pelikan M150 - Noodlers Kung te Cheng

Thanks for the Cologne shops, found one nice fountain pen shop Füllfeder-Zentrale that unfortunately only had one brand of ink. Actually they had blue and black of a lot of brands, but only one brand with non-standard colors.

Another nice shop is Papelito @ Zülpicher Straße (not far from Zülpicher Platz). They sell Caran D'Ache for 12 €!

While they concentrate on paraphernalia they have pens as well, Kaweco Sport and Caran D'Ache IIRC, they seem to focus on calligraphy pens and quills, though.

hey we should open a cologne group as there seem to be quite a few people who come to Cologne regularly, live here or want to visit.

Another great thing about Papelito is that they offer the possibility of buying only one moleskine cahier or volant to try out or if you only need one instead of buying a pack of 2 or 3. no affiliation etc..

Yeah, a get-together would be nice.

BTW - isn't a pen show scheduled for march in Cologne? I've never been to one before.

Hmm, after reading this, I think I might have to visit Cologne for the ink! If someone does plan a get-together, I'd be interested in coming.

So why don't we all meet there?

I only need to pay my university fees first; I fear that otherwise I wouldn't be able afterwards.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
