Montblanc White Forest 2009

You can find the full review on my blog, here is a direct link to the full review: Montblanc White Forest Ink Review

I inked this in a German Reform 1745 Piston filler fountain pen (great little inexpensive pen btw). The scent is kind of like a piny scent, but there is more too it. I really cant describe it. Its pretty strong in the ink well, but it fades really quickly. I cant even smell it when its in the pen or when I write with it. I would have rather they didn't even scent these inks, the color is fine by itself.

Great green ink, with nice shading, a bit of show/bleed through, wet line was produced with the Reform 1745, it also seemed like the ink dried pretty quick to me. All in all pretty well behaved. I enjoy the color and will use it every now and then for special occasions & such.

looks like a strong green. A bit too vibrant for me, like Diamine Woodland Green...

I have this ink in a Bexley stub nib, and it's absolutely gorgeous. Unlike any of my other inks. I'm going to be picking up a few more bottles soon.

I have the 2007 Cinnamon scented brown ink. And I agree with the op, the smell dissipates far too quickly. I wish you could still smell it on the page 5 mins after writing. Good job I love the colour or I would have been totally disappointed.

Lovely Review of a beautiful ink, but...

I haven't been up on my Montblanc gossip for the past several months, so could somebody please help me out:

Did they release the exact same ink as last year's and call it Season's Greetings 2009?... And if so, does anybody know why?

I remember how they released such a small batch of this stuff last year, that it was treated like a magic elixir and people were offering to pay $40+ per bottle on the marketplace here... only for it to be re-released in a huge batch the following season? Are these batches not supposed to be limited run, wherein lies their whole specialness?

Oh now I've done it. I think the neurons in the Inkeus Fountaneous section of my brain are misfiring!

Yup, I love it too and am more than happy it came out again (as is usual by MB's season's greeting, each ink, two years). My 2008 load was almost empty when I bought the 2009 release. Just as wet and fine as Amazon in all repects but alongside the nice smell, that touch of blue really does remind me of a spruce or fir or any pine.

Aaaah. I did not know that. Why on Earth then was everyone going mad trying to get this ink earlier in the year?..

Well anyway, I suppose it doesn't matter.

I love mine as well!

Nice ink. I've read many great comments about that ink before seeing that test. It looks a bit darker than Waterman Green and ligther than Montblanc Racing Green. Maybe the new Irish Green is similar?

:) I just bought a bottle of this ink today on the Montblanc refill shop. I like the color of the ink and love the shape of the bottle.
