Parker "51" : Cordovan Brown Double Jewel

So I decided to review another one of my "51" Double Jewels. This time a Gold Filled Cordovan Brown.

 

The Pen is drop dead gorgeous and writes great with a nice smooth fine nib and a hint of feedback.

I actually listed that in the review. It's called a "vacumatic". You put the nib in the ink and depress a plunger under the end of the blind cap to suck ink directly into the barrel. Thanks for the question!

You are probably right. I added the box to "spice up" the review. I have several of these boxes and some rarer 51 boxes as well. Thanks for your comment!

Just a suggestion... while I applaud hand written reviews, it is best to scan them instead of photograph, as the photographic challenges (distance, focus, lighting) can make it difficult to read the writing. As an alternative, I recommend typing out the content to accompany the handwritten display.

 

At the very least, do an auto contrast to the photo to bring out the text. Any capable image editor will have this feature. If you've got Microsoft Office, use the Picture Manager. Click on this link to see an auto-contrast of your image.

 

The Parker 51 is a beautiful pen in its own right, and I think this beauty deserves more attention. How about a few close-up photos of the pen? Try using multiple light sources too, mounting the camera on a tripod (or books) and turn off the internal flash.

i think showing the pen and the box together with the hand writing sample was the idea behind the pic posted. i don't think the pen and box can be put in the scanner with the paper!! :hmm1:
