Favorite Low Maintenance Inks?

What are your favorite low maintenance inks? My Definition of low maintenance:

1. Does not clog pen.

2. Does not stain pen.

3. Does not need frequent flushing.

4. Washable from clothes. May need Amodex or other ink stain remover but you should be able to rescue your clothes if stained; or better yet, using plain water.

5. Generally not fussy.

6. Fairly fast drying.

7. Tolerant of a wide range of papers including poor quality papers, and does not feather easily.

Of course in addition to being low maintenance you have to like the ink for it's color, flow and other properties.

I'll start: My favorites currently are Aurora Black and Aurora Blue.

Runners up: Pelikan Brilliant Black, Waterman Florida Blue, J. Herbin Eclat de Saphir and Sheaffer Skrip Blue.

So what are you favorites?

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Hany.

Off the top of my head, Cross Blue. Generally the blue inks seem to fit your needs more.

 to Waterman Florida Blue--a very low-maintenance ink. Spilled some on my shirt the other day (a dress shirt no less), soaked it overnight in water and nothing else, no trace of the stain.

Of the inks I've tried, Montblanc Bordeaux, Waterman Blue-Black, and Diamine Steel Blue all fit the bill. These are all less saturated inks that are not as high maintenance as others on the market.

Low maintenance inks:

Parker Quink Washable blue, (nice 'shade', a huge invitation to keep on writing with any pen on any paper, so it's a real pity that it tends to fade)

Parker Quink Blue, (nice but not showing a real personality although the strange thing is, in opposite to a lot of remarks on this pen-network, that it is bit darker in all my pens than the much liked Waterman Florida Blue)

Parker Quink Black, (my favorite low maintenance ink)

Not that low maintenance, (but I only need to clean my pen every two month), is Lamy Blue-Black ink. Very nice 'shade'; modest thoug impressive and a bit vintage looking color. I use it fore adressing envelopes, signing documents and writing letters.

Pelikan M 200 'F',

Lamy Accent 'MK' and 'F' / Vista 'M' / Joy '1,1 mm',

Scheaffer Prelude 'B',

Parker 45 'F'/ 75 'French M' / Sonnet 'F' / Latitude 'M'

I'll tenth Florida Blue, but I do prefer others like Éclat de saphir, Visconti Blue and Electric DC Blue just because of their colours. Their maintenance is, however, still very low, otherwise I wouldn't use the darn things.

In addition to any and all of the 'pen' inks (Waterman, Sheaffer, Pel), I am a fan of J Herbin (any color, really! The only ink that I'll collect everything they make) and some of the Diamine inks, especially China Blue, Steel Blue, and Woodland Green. This makes me want to get Diamine Umber as well.

I like the PR colors but I have to use them in wet writers only.

My other pen is a Montblanc.

I used Pelikan Turquoise as my only ink for 15 years. Never clogged, stained or did anything horrible, even though I never flushed the pen. Fantastic ink on eveything except newsprint.

My only complaint with it now is that I'm bored with it.

Regards,

Richard.

How 'bout whippin' out MB's turquoise? It's somewhat bluer, more intense, more lively and has a better flow than Pelikan's turquoise.

Skrip Peacock Blue. It is fabulous and problem free. I use it to test all my new pens. It never fails to please and is so easy to flush.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
