Thanks for your first pen review contribution! Nice to see someone making use of the review form.

 

I'd never heard of Sabonis before. When I took a search on the Internet, your review and a posting asking about writing with the nib upside down came up first! Nothing else about the pen. There's a seller on eBay selling one but no indication of where the pen is made. Do you know? Is there any imprinting on the box or paperwork that tells you? Thanks...

The IPG nib tells me it's chinese. But it's extremely nice quality. Seems to be sold only in latinamerica. A store here carries a range, mostrly BPs and they are really nice

That's not 100% -- my Yafa Cartridge Fountain Pen (made by an Italian company, though it's certainly possible they outsource manufacturing to China) has the IPG, and the point on my Dollar 717i (made in Pakistan; though they likely buy the nib and feed, it's hard to see how it could be cheap to a Pakistani company to buy Chinese) has a nearly identical point with slightly different lettering.

Well... the ending .mx in the URL indicates that they're in Mexico.

That's just the website.

 

The blue finish is starting to flake. revealed nice gold metal. might take all the blue off.

 

It has two other problems: Hard to uncap, and bad at posting.

a second sabonis I bougth has a proper Sabonis branded nib. It says Germany under it

Confirmed: Sabonis is German. Say import and customs papers
