Sailor Jentle Ink: Gray

Things are slow on a Monday, so here's a gray ink by Sailor. This is a good ink for broad nib writers, so long as you don't suffer from writer's block. :)

Thanks for the review. The only gray I've used is Herbin Gris Nuages - the Sailor looks like it shades a touch darker: nice!. I really like the properties of the Sailor inks I've tried, so this one might be going onto my unending wish list.

Thanks for the review!

That's a nice-looking gray. I'm using Iroshizuku Fuyu-Syogun in one of my pens, and it seems lighter than the Sailor. Hmm... Interesting.

On one letter I've received, this ink almost passed for HB (#2) pencil. It was a very interesting effect, easy on the eyes.

I don't like to use gray ink or lighter-black inks (new Sheaffer Skrip Black is as light as I go in black),

but several FPN members have noted that for a pageful or more of writing they prefer the less-intense black inks (Waterman, Namiki/Pilot, Montblanc, Parker Quink, R&K, Visconti, old Sheaffer Skrip) and labeled-gray inks (Diamine, Noodler's, Sailor, J Herbin, Omas).

Thanks for the review. It is a very lovely ink, and one of my favourites.

I have wanted this Gray for some time but somehow  I always found something else to want after. Your review gave me a bit of a prod and I now have a bottle on order and even have plans to mix some with Sailor Blue. Thanks for putting my priorities back in order. Edited by JAPeN

DilettanteG,

Thanks for the kind words. I had a good time using that Sailor Gray ink on smooth paper. :)
