Orange Overlay - Who Made It?

Taking a bit of a risk that my hunch is correct and this is a Chinese pen and hoping someone can ID it for me. Of course if it isn't Chinese, I'm in all the wrong place...!

I should probably have taken a pic of the converter as well; knew I'd forget something. (Edited to add: Aerometric nonsense - it's just a squeezy filler style that doesn't work terribly well but looks aerometric-y. No idea of the proper term; my brain has given up. It's been a long week.) No other markings that I can find other than the feather on the nib. Thought that would result in a successful Google, but no luck - not helped by all the quill pens it turned up.

Comparison to a TWSBI Vac700 and a Pilot MR/Metroplitan. It's a big pen. And heavy. Did I mention heavy? Whew. Nice smooth wet writer though.

Would be great if anyone could tell me anything about it; thank you muchly.

Cheers, Al

I am fairly certain I have seen this pen offered on ebay. I do believe it is from China. You might scope the pens & writing instruments on ebay for it or just search on ebay through the popular Chinese makers to see a listing and id it that way..

Thanks for the response, gentlemen - I was beginning to think I'd made a faux pas!

It's odd; I saw the feather mark on the nib and thought that'd mean an easy identification for someone (even thought it might be me!). Oh well. I've already hit Google pretty hard, but I shall dig deeper and focus more on da 'bay. Good idea.

Hmm. Going by the feather on the nib I'd crossed them off the list, but perhaps I didn't dig deeply enough.

The only other squeeze-y filler converter I've seen from China is in those NOS Hero pens that flex more than they ought to. Perhaps it's an old Hero?

Pretty pen! Have you figured out exactly what make it is? I'd love one just because it's so attractive and apparently writes well (but who knows with their quality control what kind of pen I'd get.)

Sorry, Llewro, didn't see your post! Hadn't considered it might be older NOS; that could complicate things.

betweenthelens, I'm afraid it's still a mystery. In fairness I've been neglecting the hunt a little; I must return to combing the 'bay. It does write very nicely, but in all honesty I find I simply can't use it. The weight combined with the fairly slippery section demanding a firm grip means it gets very tiring very quickly. It's such a shame, because it's certainly an eye-catcher.

That's too bad. I'm sure you'd find a buyer for it, if you decide to sell it.

I did, too...thought that the feather logo would be easy to find. But I got nothin'. And I'm curious!

My latest ebook.   And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.
