Very nice presentation for a review.

As it is appropriate for an fountain pen enthusiast :-)

Lately the Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze is getting whole lot of positive reviews.

I always loved this pen, btw I find the nib smoother than my Pelikan m600 & m400. :D :D

Thanks for taking the time to write a review, The Visconti Homo Sapiens is a very nice looking pen. How does the Palladium nib compare to a Gold nib?

Thanks

Nice review of a nice pen even if i have to say i'm not habituated to the american way to mark(A,A+ and so on) and i'm more used to the classic 9/10...

A people can be great withouth a great pen but a people who love great pens is surely a great people too...

Pens owned actually: MB 146 EF;Pelikan M200 SE Clear Demonstrator 2012 B;Parker 17 EF;Parker 51 EF;Waterman Expert II M,Waterman Hemisphere M;Waterman Carene F and Stub;Pilot Justus 95 F.

Nearly owned: MB 149 B(Circa 2002);Conway Stewart Belliver LE bracket Brown IB.

Vancomycin,

Very good review, and I also enjoy using my HS Bronze Age.

I may not grade the filler system an "A." While I like the filler system overall, I think this pen needs an ink window. I'd give it an 8/10.

Also, watch how fast the tarnish builds on your bronze. I like it for the "character" this provides, but some may find the need to use the provided cloth on a very frequent basis less desirable than other modern pens.

This is one of my favorite pens when settling down for the evening to write my daily thoughts and reflections, and the lava-rock body is unique among all other fountain pens.

The nib is springier than my modern Montblanc 149 but not as soft as my Pelikan M1000 so I would say it depends on the cutting/thickness of the gold nib you compare it with.

The palladium nib is my favourite in the collection, it is extremely wet (which I like) & springy. I just love the way it glides across the paper with no resistance at all.

Thank you for the thoughtful comment :)

I agree that an ink window would be very handy, I can only tell if my pen runs out of ink when it doesn't write anymore. That's why I didn't give it an "A+".

I think the power filler is a very unique and efficient filling mechanism. It is one of the major reasons I choose the bronze version over the steel version (which only has a built in converter).

Hello,

this is the reason why I carry always my Visconti travel ink pot within my Visconti 2pen etui.

Greetings

Thomas

Problems with this pen are the average ink capacity and the not enough flexible nib on it. Otherwise it is a good pen.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

I want to look at these more closely. I only have a steel nib Rembrandt and my Opera Elements limited edition. These HS pens look quite nice too.

Rob Maguire (Plse call me "M or Mags" like my friends do...)I use a Tablet, Apple Pencil and a fountain pen. Targas, Sailor, MB, Visconti, Aurora, vintage Parkers, all wonderful.
