Diamine Delamere Green (Old English Ink)

I am not a number

Recommended Posts

I was spurred on to buy this ink after reading the excellent review by All My Hues, the initial premise was that I was going to buy it for a friend of mine who I had given some green homebrew to, that not particularly cunning plan fell to pieces within moments of me actually trying the ink. I'm not normally a great fan of green inks that this one pleases me in that it doesn't leap off the page and slap me around the face and it's going to be great for marginalia/annotations as it stands out enough to be noticed but not enough to detract from the text which I'll be using it on.

Anyway here's a scan of the review followed by the standard 100% crop.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of nothing at all...

Thanks for the review. This is currently on my "to buy" list. You just helped me confirm that I will be buying it. :)

The color never made it onto my "to buy" list . . . I just went to the Diamine.uk website and bought some . . . and some Claret . . . and some Majestic Purple.

I think I need more pens now.

Thank you for the thorough review. :)

May you have pens you enjoy, with plenty of paper and ink. :)

Please use only my FPN name "Gran" in your posts. Thanks very much!

Thanks for the review. Diamine has some wonderful green inks and this is one of my favorites. I used it on my Christmas cards last year. I love this ink.

Thanks for a great review. This will probably be my next ink purchase, as I am developing a serious fondness for Diamine inks and I really like greens.

Just a week after placing an order for some Diamine inks, I see that I'm now compelled to place another order with this Delamere Green as first on the new list! Thanks for the excellent review!

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

      >Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color,<   I'm sure they were, and my answer assumes that. It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film. Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
