Ashes of roses eh? sounds intriguing... you have a secret formula?

Virginia Wolfe wrote about possibly color coding envelopes of letters and she mentioned that color.

I thought it sounded wonderful.

Ok, I am more for a Fountain Pen, BUT if we do this and the majority goes for ink, then we will need something to put it into. So I was thinking of something special other than the stock ink bottle. I do not know the reputation of this site nor do I endorse it (first time there), but I came across it by accident. Let me know what you think!!!

And I also saw this little pen made by Platinum. I know nothing about this pen nor company, but from what the website says, its 14K solid gold fine nib

Here is the item description:

This is a BRAND NEW fountain pen made by PLATINUM called the RED ESSAY. Features a solid 14k GOLD Fine Point nib. This is a snap on cap. This comes with 1 ink cartridge and a converter located at bottom of box with papers.

There are more pens on this page, check them out here:

I'm a satisfied customer of isellpens.com. good product, prices, and service.

I'd also vote for the rectangle inkwell...

Thats good, I am glad to hear that someone has dealt with them before!!

I have dealt with ISellPens many, many times....Great prices and fast shipping....One little quibble though (and I really should let them know next time I order from them) is that they have always sent unboxed fountain pens, rollerballs and ballpoints in a black velvet "sleeve" with no extra padding/bubble wrap/PVC tube. Just the pen in its sleeve in a padded envelope. I haven't had anything break on me yet, but I worry about it happening....

Other than that, A-1 service! :D

As for the potential FPN pen, I'd rather not pay $50 or more for one (I voted for a pen <$30)....The Laban inkwell looks very nice, though :)

Sounds like we're focusing in on a nice set of things.

Re: colours....I am really not fussy....I would agree to any of the colours in the Poll, except for Yellow (they're generally not dark enough for my liking).

I had to pick one, so I clicked on "Brown" because I don't have any brown inks in my "stable" yet

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
