Remove an older lamy (CP1? I think) feed

a friend passed on her older lamy Cp1 pen (that's what it looks like from the web) and it is seriously gummed up with old ink.

 

the convertor cleaned out fine - but is it possible to pull the feed and nib from the section? I'd like to clean it out for her.

 

What should I soak it in to help loosen the crud?

 

there is NO flow through the section - I tried to blow through it to dislodge gunk, and no go - it it stuck closed.

 

Any tips would be appreciated.

I have no idea how to remove the feed from the section, but the nib itself slides onto the feed and it is fairly easy to remove it. What I do is to gently hold the nib from the sides and with my fingernails behind the nib folds, slide the nib out.

According to this instruction at The Writing Desk it is possible and might also happen accidentally while trying to remove the nib.

I BROKE IT!

 

The feed was SO stuck that when I put some pressure on it, it broke...

 

&*%$

 

Now I need a whole new (old) feed....

 

(Potty Mouth).
