Parker 51 C/C pen.

This Parker 51 was put together from a broken 51 Vacumatic's nib, feed, collector and connector, a C/C conversion piece made in India by a gentleman there, a push-pull converter from a Sonnet and the midnight blue barrel and hood from an aerometric 51 that were left over from a conversion to a Kullock yellow hood and barrel. Waste not, want not.

I have inked this up, and it writes perfectly. In another thread others expressed concern that the ink would corrode the brass part that holds the cartridge or converter. I probably will not use this much, if at all. I wanted to see what it would look like and how it would all fit. The gentleman who designed and made this apparently did a perfect job. It all fits together nicely. For me it is an interesting collectible.

What about long breather tube? it will be damage if you use a piston converter or when you puncture a cartridge to open it ...

The feed from the 51 Vacumatic has a short breather tube. Pushing the piston all the way in with the push-pull converter doesn't hit anything. The long breather tube would have created that issue, though.

Very clever solution.

Thanks for showing us.

Are this custom connectors available to the public?

C.

The other thread I linked has a link to the ebay item. You could ask the seller if he has any more available.

I have one of these C/C transformers, but had some problems finding the converters to use. I will give another try, but the producer mentioned that universal converters fit.

Nice pen, pajaro. The Indian technician did a great job! Like you, I am a fan of 51s in any form. I have one of those conversion 51s made from Howard Levy's kit. Roger Cromwell did the surgery. It writes wonderfully, though I prefer using a cartridge instead of converter in it. That's also how I fill and use a vista blue Parker SE which has rarely been empty since I bought it new in 2002. I use cartridges also in my c/c Parker 61s. Thank you for your interesting post.
