A Pen You May Have Never Seen... Cleo Skribent Linea. Arte C2005

Hi, Folks!

 

This was part of a group of pens sent to me by Cleo Skribent to photograph back in 2005. They wanted a write up on their namesake new Skribent line, but sent along several other pens as well. This pen is the Linea. Arte fountain pen. The period is actually part of the name. I've had these pens all along and always wanted to photograph this attractive sterling silver one.

 

 

The Linea.Arte series is intended as an art deco design. Art Deco started in France just before World War I and impacted the visual arts, architecture and design. It became popular in the 1920s and 1930s. The look of the pen is based on 1930s metalwork designs by the Fend Company, founded in Pforzheim, Germany. The Linea. Arte pen line consists of a fountain pen, ballpoint pen and pencil, made of solid 925 sterling silver. The clip is silver-plated. The nib is rhodium plated 18 karat gold, made for Cleo Skribent, but they do the plating in house. The price of the pen in 2005 was 154€, the most expensive pen Cleo Skribent offered.
