Not a full review but just some impressions of my new Delta.

Even the unboxing is fun when opening the acryl box.

And here it is ... the Delta Dolcevita Stantuffo Oro. A big piston filler with a beautiful orange color and silver trim.

To access the filling mechanism you have to remove the end knob.

The trim is made of 925 sterling silver, the nib is a 14k gold nib in size B, the body is resin.

The Delta pen is a big and thick(!) pen. The orange color suites well to the silver trim. Of course the pen seems to be a little bit unusual compared to traditional pens. But nevertheless I think this pen is worth to be regarded.

I hope you enjoy these first impressions,

Ingolf.

I think that is a very beautiful pen. I do think the orange and silver a bit... different.

A small wrting sample.

Above the Delta Dolcevita with broad gold nib. The ink used is Pelikan Edelstein Topaz.

Below the Delta Vintage Amber with broad steel nib. The ink used is Diamine Presidential Blue.

The nib of the Dolcevita is a bit broader than the nib of the Delta Vintage. Both nibs are very smooth (with a little plus for the Dolcevita).

The ink flow of both pens is very good.

Regards, Ingolf.

The Stantuffo has become my far and away favorite pen. At first, I thought it looked a bit clunky or boxy compared to other gracefully shaped pens, but it is the ideal proportions for my hand. Comfort trumps aesthetics. I prefer pistons, and appreciate the view window and the knob under the blind cap so that one can move the plunger down as the ink is used as you could with a converter (whereas one would have to back the blind cap away from the barrel on an Omas, for example). The 14k nib has the ideal degree of firmness too for the pressure I usually apply. Added bonus is that should service ever be required (at least in the US), Yafa (distributor) has been uber-helpful.

Great looking pen, Ingolf. I, too, have a Delta broad nib and it is very smooth with perfect ink flow. No problem at all keeping up with the broad nib.

Just got mine and can't wait to start using it - but first I have to find the right ink for it. It has to be something that matches black and orange. Diamine Ochre is a suitable choice but I have two pens already inked with that.

Hello Alexander:

In the German "penexchange.de" forum I got the recommendation to use an ink named "Tarumi" from Nagasawa Kobe Inks. But I prefer variations of blue and blue-black inks.

Maybe the Tarumi ink will be the ink of your choice.

Many thanks for the recommendation, Ingolf. It's a beautiful ink. Yet another to consider. Thankfully I have enough pens for even more inks (and if I hadn't I would have given me the excuse I needed to get a few new pens ;-). The only problem is finding time to play, sorry, I meant write with all these great pens and inks.

I have the oversize, which this might be as well??, co-workers call it the bowling ball.

I bought the converter edition on the cheap and use it as an ED with a very very safe ink on occasion.

Good pen.
