The Winner should get a letter written with a pen with the very last fill inside.

I'll say 12 to cover the high end. Let's not waste any of that precious tsuki-yo, KaB, ol' buddy.

47th filling. The Sheaffer Legacy I (factory stub) got thirsty again. And this pen can still drink straight from the bottle! (No way of telling how much ink was taken however)

When the bottle is finished, you need to update that GIF in your signature line to show the whole thing disappearing!

I hope Tas'll oblige me with an update. Building GIF's is far beyond my skill level ....

The least I can do . . . :)

Drop me a message if, God forbid, I mis the final fill . . . :o

This KaB's thread, sorry to barge in : ) but Tas, would it be possible to take a photo of hands squeezing a giant wad of paper, and then the bottle refilling with ink?

My imagination in overdrive ; ) wants to see the source of the refill

48th. just like for the 47th, the Sheaffer Legacy I (factory stub) got thirsty again. And this pen can still drink straight from the bottle! (No way of telling how much ink was taken however). Might be his last portion of Tsuki-Yo...

PS, The End Is Near :)

I felt like doing something, so I did something. :)

This is the smaller version of the picture (poor quality, but lighter). For the bigger version, please click here (OneDrive makes it a bit oversaturated).

EDIT: The GIF will be really great, I can't wait to see it :)

The image was borrowed from killzoneblog.com. There was no information about the author, no copyright info, nothing. I hope it's fine!

I removed three crosses from the picture - just in case. I didn't want to make any religious references (to avoid any offence).

The font is free - it's Nice Dreams Come True by 'weknow'.

This is an absolutely amateur work (and a quick one), so please be tolerant of all the imperfections :)

I use GIMP.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
