Pilot Custom Heritage 92 Loose Nib/feed

I recently purchased a used CH 92. Soon after inking it, I began to notice occasional drops of ink. I held the pen nib down. After a few seconds, a drop of ink began to build on the tip of the nib. I immediately contacted the seller who informed me that the nib and feed were pressure fit. He suggested I reset the nib and feed. Having reset many nibs/feeds in vintage pens I went ahead. I immediately noticed a loose fit even after rotating the nib and feed per the sellers suggestion to seat them properly.

I'm hoping someone can share some insight as to how the CH 92 nib and feed are supposed to be set. It just seems like these are very loose.

Hi, I've got one of these.

The CH92 nib & feed will feel less tight in the section compared to the vintage pens you're used to, because the Pilot relies less on friction for a good seal. Instead, the section has a gasket like soft material that the feed mates with.

The nib to feed set is determined by a stop on the feed, which slots into the notch at the back of the nib. The feed is fully inserted in the section when you feel it abut the gasket in the section.

The feed's ink channels are a separate piece, and I've noticed that the extent they protrude into the ink tank can be adjusted.

To return to your/your seller's problem, is the gasket material okay? How about the piston seal? Is the ink channel piece present?

Thank you. This is great information. I don't have the ink channel piece. That is missing. I assume that explains the problem.
