What's Up With My Parker Im? (Disturbed Flow)

I started using this pen last Sunday, and it really wrote like a dream at once. Today I encountered trouble, as the flow got crappy before it just stopped in the midst of writing a letter. Not out of ink, half the cartrige left. Not dislodged. Ran it under hot whater, got some flow back. No improovement after leaving the pen uppright, capped, nib facing down - hoping gravity would help. Didn't seem to do the job, swiched to a full cartrige. Flows bether, so I'll leave it until tomorrow hoping for improovement.

What can cause this to happen? I cant see anything out of the ordinary using a 10x magnifyer. Could it be caused by using bad paper? Medium nib, moleskin type paper - recomended by the store. What is a pitty is that pens are sold in book stores where they really don't have a clue regarding pens. I have yet to see a pen specialist store, but it would not surprise me if I'd have to go abroad. You can buy (mostly Cross and Parker) from some websites, but there is poor info on the pens themselves, like material, nib size...

I also bought a Lamy All Star, because they cost about the same and I wanted to compare them - mabe have the best looking one at work, and the other one as a carry around. Getting the Lamy started took more time, had to stand overnight before really performing. Parker IM worked great instantly, but now that's the one troubling me.

Any thoughts?

Parker IMs are known for drying out while capped - there's a big honking hole underneath the clip. You may have ink dryed out in the feed causing flow problems ?

Hm... I have flushed it, and it seems to have cleared out as inky whater was replaced by clean whater...

I flows great if I put it allmost flat, but only straight lines in the direction i move it, and only if I move it towards me... Wonder if there could be an issue with the nib itself, but I'm quite new to this. And... When I hopefully get my pen going again, how can I prevent it from drying out?
