On Line Germany?

Has anyone heard of them? If so, any information to share? I saw them yesterday at my local stationary shop, they seem to make some pretty decent pens, and at quite reasonable prices. Any info is welcome!

Thanks!

Serviceable and inexpensive, commonly found in the department stores like Karstadt and Galleria. Fountain pens are cheap and plentiful here, and Online is just another stationary brand.

Yup, more like a low end Pelikan school pens, geared towards school children. They do have a few more "serious" line-ups, but they don't strike my fancy.

They produce some ink too - nothing fancy, but their discount packs are quite cheap. You get ~50 blue cartridges for 5€ or so.

I have an On Line Event fountain pen that broke after a week. The body must have been defective, after changing cartridges in it the ink started to bubble out above the nib section, on the side. Unfortunately, I bought it during a trip to Germany, and where I live they don't have a distributor. I wrote to their service email address and never received a reply, so I called them and they basically told me that I have to take it back to the shop I bought it from. Not very helpful...

Inks: Waterman Serenity Blue, Diamine Blue-black, Diamine Twilight, Lamy Red, Noodler's Black Swan in Australian Roses, Noodler's 54th Massachusetts, Montblanc Irish Green, Lamy Turquoise, Pelikan 4001 Brown

Pens: Lamy Safari Black M nib, Lamy Vista M nib, Sheaffer Targa F nib, TWSBI Vac700 demonstrator 1.1 nib, Pelikan M200 Cognac M nib

All of the above. But I did buy a 15-ml bottle of "Lilac" for 3.22 euros. (In the same store, Pelikan's 30-ml 4001s come in at 3.30).

I've got two Online fountain pens at the moment - one made of Zebrano wood with interchangeable screw-in nibs, the other metal and plastic; in the past I had two more plastic pens which I have sold. Wood and metal pens are decently built, nothing special at all, Plastic pens are colorful, but don't seem to be that durable. Cartridge fillers. Section was not very comfortable on all pens.

I have tried several of their inks. Nothing special at all, rather boring - with one exception: the brown is a nice, dark, saturated brown, quick drying. Quite lovely.

Like others have said: They manufacture mostly school supplies for a mass market sold in supermarkets. Make your deductions...

Greetings,

Michael

I have the zebrano wood calligraphy pen with three nibs. It's okay, nothing to write home about ( :P ). I don't like that the design of the barrel means that the cap can't be posted, and of all the FPs that I have (a whole half dozen), it's the most uncomfortable to hold; where the section screws into the barrel, the barrel has a larger diameter, and there's a sharpish edge there.

It came with a bottle of their brown ink, which is also nothing spectacular. It's so dark that it looks almost black.

Until you ink a pen, it is merely a pretty stick. --UK Mike

I LOVE Online pens! I own Vision (x3, in all different colors,) Swing (a calligraphy set,) a 3-in-1 pen (a package of one body/ barrel and a fountain pen nib, a roller ball nib, and a calligraphy nib,) and another school pen. They are great- smooth writers, and very reliable. I saw a whole bunch of them when I was in Switzerland, especially at larger supermarkets, and it was so much fun just to look at all the colors/ designs!

Incidentally, they also make cartridges that contain scented ink! They have a few different versions- rose, sunflower, and Oriental (? looks like daisy or chamomile?)

I picked up an inexpensive Online leather pen pouch in Vienna a few weeks ago.

Its well made from decent leather and is very presentable, for the price.

Odd that the packaging says "Online" and "College" which are English words, even though everything else is in German.

  • 1 year later...

My first ever fountain pen was an Online from the Campus line. I picked it up for $12CAD when one of the local stationary shops was closing down. It's nothing too special -- I think of it as a very inexpensive entry-level just-for-fun school pen. The nib writes fine, but I wouldn't choose it over my Lamy Safaris or my Pilot Metropolitan. This is basically my knock-about pen that I use to test ink colours or fill with a basic colour to leave on my work table.

Well known manufacturer of school pens. The leather cases are nice.

I use a leather case of them too. Fits the Pelikan M2xx/4xx perfectly.

As a school kid I had several Online fountain pens, but they could not take the beating. Not bad for the price, but I would buy something else.

I've receive last year an Online Vision Classic Cognac as birthday gift. Very smooth, good size, screw in nibs #5, standard C/C.
