Pens Made By Using "modified" Kit (El Grande)

Here are a couple of pens made as per my request, both using some elements from El Grande kit (basically just the nib unit / section plus threaded inserts which are pressed into barrels and caps). Both are made from wood blanks - African Ebony and Cocobolo, non-polished finish (just a thin coat of urethane). The one made from African ebony has a longer barrel (proportins identical to Nakaya Deskpen), the other pen is 3/4" shorter. Homo Sapiens shown for easier size illustration and comparison.

Question: would anyone know if there are any nib units (nib, feed and section) available that would fit the threaded piece in the barrel -- the reason I would really like to find out is to be able to use better quality nibs and feeds as the standard nibs supplied with the kit are okay but not exactly top of the line.

Thanks

What a pretty pen. Would you take a commission?

There are some nibs and sections for ST DUPONT on ebay at fairly reasonable prices, but I have no idea what would fit with what.

But I would love that pen with an ST DUPONT nib! Or a Parker Centennial nib, or?

Cheers,

Very nice looking pens!

With regard to your question, both of those pens appear to have a kit nib section that would have an M10 x 1 thread. It would be easy enough to create a couple of nib sections with that thread that are made to take good quality nibs, like JoWo. I make these all the time.

great pen  thanks for sharing

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time
