Fountainbel Bulkfiller "first Production Run" Pictures

Hi all,

We just assembled the first pen of the Fountainbel bulk filler "First Production Run" of 60 pens.

Attached some pictures I've made.

As explained before, the cap plug , filling knob, barrel thread clutch and clip are all made from titanium

The titanium clip is made from a long bushing , making the clip pinching finger extremely flexible, while returning perfectly to its original shape.

As a result the clip can easily cope with shirt or jacket pockets thicknesses up to 2.5- 3mm.

Note the piston anchoring system in which the white piston anchoring finger engages in the black anchor on the barrel enclosure nut.

This black/white combination makes one views the engagement very well and kind off reflects to the black/white cap top logo.

Note the gravures in the titanium furniture are not yet done :

- "FPR 1-60" to 60-60 on top of the filling knob

- "CONID – BELGIUM" around the cap top

- "Fountainbel Bulk filler" most probably around the cap ring ( or around the filling knob)

The pens will be ready for shipment early May.

Although the titanium parts are far more expensive as their earlier HR or polycarbonate counterparts, prices remain as specified in my earlier post in this forum :

When interested in buying one of these pens, please contact Werner at Conid : werner@conid.be

Thanks for reading so far and happy Easter !

Francis

the pen looks really nice. i like the clip, reminds me of Lamy 2K.

on the 2nd pic, how strong is that small part that locks the piston? it looks like it can easily break if you accidentally pull the piston and the lock is not fully seated?

Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing

Thanks for your comments !

Both anchoring fingers are 1.5mm thick, radially 2.5 mm wide and made from a though plastic.

Be assured these will not break easily !

Oooooh, pretty! I have such a weakness for demonstrators. This is my first time running across this pen. I will have to do a search now to find other posts related to it! Just a thought, maybe a link in the original post up top to your first thread w/prices would be handy?

Just in case you've not seen this thread.

I am just curious, as I have asked a similar question asked before. What is the point of making such a complex bulk filler? I asked what stops this from blebbing like an eye dropper, and it was said that today's feeds have been improved where this is a non-issue. However, if that was the case, why not just make it an eyedropper if the goal was to increase the capacity of the pen?

It's interesting in concept, but I just don't understand the over-engineering.

The heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of.

Why must you show me this? WHY!

I think it is a beautiful pen and I love the filling mechanism. I have made the decision to buy only cheap pens for giggles from now on, but I am really considering selling some pens to afford this. I would love to see some reviews and nib options that are going to be available.

Congrats on creating something new.

Maybe a TWSBI on steroids (and I love my TWSBIs).

I truly hope there will be subsequent runs of this since it's not an option for me at this time.

I came here for the pictures and stayed for the conversation.

Very beautiful Francis. Looks very sophisticated, You and Conid have achieved a superb level of finish and polishing on the transparent parts.

Have you put up a bulk filler page up on Conid's website yet? I think you should put up a well designed site dedicated to this pen with some nice videos/animation showing the operation of the pen. Many pen lovers are not on FPN and also the webpage will prove a good reference.

Best

Hari
