Chess Board & Pieces - Solid Hardwood

Recommended Posts

Asking $95 for the board and pieces, shipping, and packaging within CONUS.

I have for sale a hand crafted and signed by David Levy, Hardwood Creations, Davis CA. This stunning master's chess board and noble chess pieces are made from solid hard woods. No stains or dyes are used. The colors and patterns are derived from the natural wood. Finished with lacquer for lasting luster and durability. I believe the frame is Walnut, the light squares and pieces Maple, and the dark squares and pieces Wenge.

Dimensions:

19 7/8 x 19 7/8 inches sits on four 1/2 inch semi-spherical pads

1 3/4 inch dovetailed walnut frame that is 3/4" thick

Light and dark squares are 2"

King 3 5/8", Queen 3 1/8", Bishop 2 3/4", Knight 2 1/2", Castle 2", Pawn 1 7/8"

The green-felted pieces are nicely weighted and balanced with a solid tactile feel. Rarely used and so it is in very good condition. If you look hard enough you may see a tiny scratch here and there. I do want to call you attention to two of my pics showing one of the dark bishops needs some touching up. I didn't want to touch it up until the prospective buyer saw the pic. A bit of extra fine sandpapering and some finish, and it's back to its before state. Supersedes all previous posts regarding this subject.

wow, that is a gorgeous set. If it is here in a week or so after the Feds give me back my over taxed dollars, which of course they borrowed all year without paying me interest haha, I will jump all over it!

I love wooden chess sets!

this year, or this month, or, more likely, this very day, we have failed to practice ourselves the kind of behavior we expect from other people.
