Montblanc Hemingway Fountain Pen-Fine nib

Recommended Posts

I had this pen listed on Ebay and 7 days later. Nothing from the winning buyer and no payment, so instead of re listing it right away, I thought I would try the boards first.

Up for sale is a Montblanc Hemingway Writers Edition Fountain Pen.

This pen is in great condition, but is missing its all its boxes. This pen just has its papers. The pen has been lightly used and does have some surface scratches on the cap, but it still looks great, as you can see in the pictures. I tried to capture the scratches, but it was very hard. It has a Fine nib, but almost like an Extra fine nib. $1895 +shipping!

Here is information from Montblanc...

The coral red and dark brown of the Writers Edition Hemingway is reminiscent of a Montblanc fountain pen from the 1930s – the decade in which Hemingway celebrated his earliest success.

The cap, with its gold-plated mountings and classical, gold-plated clip, bears the engraved signature of the writer. Rhodium-platings and an artistic engraving of a motif from Hemingway's period decorate the hand-cut 18-karat gold nib.

Ernest Hemingway was undoubtedly one of the greatest writers of the 20th century, and he still inspires discriminating literature enthusiasts all around the world.

In works such as "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and "The Old Man and the Sea", Hemingway was remarkable for his powers of verbal expression and the denseness of his narratives. Hemingway thus became not only a model for a whole generation of writers, but also a challenge – which most of them failed to meet.

This one is sold!

On ebay as a seller you cant leave negative feedback anymore. All you can do is open a claim and get your closing fees back. But any money you spent to market, is lost. Ebay is really a buyers market!

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
