This is one of the pens I found in an old cigar box. They were my Dad's and sat unused for many years. I will get the pen restored but would like to know what it is! Thanks for any input. Elina

Commonly called 2 band gold seal. Color is black and pearl. It is pretty discolored but that is the correct nib. Looks like all it really needs is cleaned up and a new sac. Shouldn't cost more than $30 or so to do and probably worth $100 or a little more when done if no cracks or other problems.

Save the Wahls!

Thank you! I wish I had found this box of my Dad's pens years ago. It was a delight to discover them. I will have a handful of pens restored that were his and initially just assumed the cost of restoration would well exceed the value of the pens but, now that the folks of FPN have helped me ID most of them, it looks like that will not be the case. I don't really care about the cost since they were his and have enormous value to me but it's kinda nice that they have increased in value over the years! Thanks again. All the best, Elina

The pen is a Wahl Eversharp Gold Seal (lifetime guarantee) Personal Point (Interchangeable nib units) pen. It was known in the catalog of 1929 as the 84 series. All of the pens in this series start with the number 84 denoting a #8 length pen with a #4 size nib The color is Black and Pearl 04 and that is followed with the letter C (pocket or side clip) .

Here is a scan of the catalog page with your pen on it.

Wow! That is a fantastic scan of a catalog page. It's very exciting to see something like that. I'll be sending 6 of the pens I found including this one to Richard Binder for restoration. I expect it will be a great experience to finally write with it. Thanks so much for posting that! Elina
