Platinum Blue Black

The Lamy portion of the review is a skoosh lighter because I had recently flushed the pen out and there was a hint of water still in the nib.

There's not a lot of shading with this ink.

I also took a draft of an article I'd longhanded and ran it under a lukewarm tap until the paper was on the verge of disintigration. As you can see, the ink faded, but did not come all the way out.

This ink is my "daily driver" ink. It plays well in all my pens. It does not require me to use special care. It's (for all practical intents) waterproof.

Is that from a bottle or from cartridges? My cartridges are not nearly such a bright blue. I'd describe them as a dark grey-blue. I REALLY like the colour in your scans...

Thanks a lot for this scan, it's very helpful (and it just convinced me to buy a couple of bottles of that ink :D )

Bottle.

The ink in the cartridge is a bit more like the Lamy sample, but is just as water resistant.

Lovely color  . I'm not surprised you find this ink so favorable. I was kind of surprised at the excellent performance of the black cartridges that came with my Nakaya--great flow, nice dark color. I will definitely consider the blue-black as well.

I wonder if the color has changed since I purchased my bottle (I have 0606 printed on the bottom side of the box's top flap). I'm just not seeing a particularly vibrant ink on paper.

After the third line I "burped" my pen, which increased the flow. Using a glass pen didn't change the result.

By the way, Pilot blue-black for comparison:

Stephen,

How is the feathering of the Platinum BB? I lost my beloved Pilot BB bottle in a messy accident and I'm in search of a replacement ink for my FA nibbed Custom 743. The bottled Pilot BB ink is really hard to get here while the Platinum is relatively easy to find.

I'd say that feathering performance is very good. I give the nod to platinum for being the better looking ink.
