Waterman C/F & Modern Converter

Recommended Posts

Has anyone had any luck using a modern converter in a vintage Waterman C/F? I have several C/F's with old cartridges that I refill with a syringe. I would like to pass these along to family and friends if I could fit them with easiy obtainable converters.

I haven't found any modern converters that fit. However, C/F pens do take Waterman brand (and ONLY Waterman brand) mini-cartridges. In USA, you can only find the minis in Florida blue and Black.

You can get a broader range of colors of Waterman brand mini-cartridges from www.websterspenshop.co.uk. They usually carry South Seas blue, red, purple.

Hope that helps,

Petra

Thanks for the information. I just happen to have a box of Waterman mini-cartridges and I'll give one of those a try. The Watermans are slightly smaller in diameter in comparison to some other international sized cartridges which would likely explain why only the Waterman mini's work in this application. This will be a great way to bring these fine little C/F's back into service.

Thanks again,

Terry

Terry, you can still obtain Waterman Lady Converters (which fit the C/F) from the Waterman service center in Janesville, Wisconsin. Call 1-800-BEST-PEN.

...random aside - I still have some 30 rolls of unused, long-expired Kodachrome 64 film (35mm). They have been frozen since 2009. No idea why I have held on to them for this long, but I guess I'm hoping for a miracle. I too have never developed colour film but I still d&p my B&W to this day. As a passion, of course.

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

      >Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color,<   I'm sure they were, and my answer assumes that. It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film.
