This is an ink that makes me ridiculously happy. It is a deep, vibrant, warm red. But it is neither brownish or and orange red. I knew I liked this red ink, but it was when it fell in love with my F/XF (uncertain which size it is) Montblanc 146 nib I realised how lovely this ink is! The nib brought out the best of this red and the ink brought out the best of the nib. This might be a somewhat silly review, but it is hard to be a cynic when writing with this ink. The flow is - as with basically all the Diamine inks I've encountered - excellent and the feathering very moderate on Moleskine. All in all a great ink. A red that can (and should) be used as much more than correcting. :)

I adore this ink. And I'm not normally a big red fan, but this ink is fabulous.

I adore this color. It's currently sitting in my burgundy Pelikan 140.

Thanks for the review!

My all time favorite red is Omas Vespucci Red. However, now that it is no longer available, Monacco Red has taken its place.

Nice ink, nice review.

I've had this one around for quite a while. The first ink I bought from Diamine direct. I still love it. It is such a warm, happy colour without being 'in your face' Its the only red I use on a regular basis.

Thanks for kind response. I thought it got somewhat silly, but this is such a lovely red inviting to draw hearts and such things. :)

Thank you for reviewing. Does the scan look pretty much like the real ink? I've seen a lot of scans that look kind of light and faded, but most people seem to say that the ink is dark. I really like my Noodler's Tiananmen, but I've been looking for a true red as well, and this seems to fit the bill.

Yes, on my screen it looks very much like it does on the paper. It is a deep, warm, fullbodied, red - not burgundy or brownish; just a deep, intense red. It hasn't looked faded in any of my pens. If you order directly from Diamine you can get it in a 30 ml bottle for about Ģ2.50. If you buy three small bottles you usually get a pack of 18 assorted cartridges with Diamine ink.
