I want I want. That is definitely on the list. I'm sure the suggested price is 300, I'll be interested to see what places are actually going to charge. If it's around 250 I'm in for it very quickly. Sort of a disappointment though it seems to be the 14k lamy safari nib. Granted I LOVE that nib, just not what I was hoping for on that pen!

Tom

Sorry to say it, but i'm not impressed. It's a very boring looking pen. For $300 there are much nicer pens out there.

Actually, I'm not sure if I will. Same old non-2000 gold nib, which I'm not that keen on, and a derivative design which takes the VP and uglifies it!. Presumably the price is for the mechanism...

Kind of neat; I'm not sure if I like the straight cylindrical grip section/cap, but that's my preference for ergonomics. I'm sure it will appeal to a number of people, though!

It looks like it requires two hands to work the mechanism and the clip is in a bad location for lefties. The shape doesn't thrill me either. I find it disappointing, but will reserve final judgment until I see one for myself. For $300, I'd rather get a Pilot VP and a Lamy 2000 (and I already have one of each).

Disappointing. Not only does it look ergonomically less than friendly and requiring 2 hands to work, I think it looks like a flashlight.

If I were going to spend that kind of money, I'd get TWO VPs!!!

:hmm1: Looks sort of uncomfortable to hold.

I will await your review with interest.

Very cool design. Very, very cool. +1

With the introduction of the Dialog 3, this definitely supports a forum dedicated to that brand.

Full disclosure: I don't own a Lamy.

Interesting. I look forward to the range of colors; I hope it's not limited to that khaki.

Wonder why the clip doesn't appear to retract in those photos (per the description from the salesperson I talked with)... :hmm1:

It is a great design. I love it. It is very much the Pico's big sister. I think it is too bad they are using the Studio-style gold nib and not the 2000-style. If $300 is suggested MSRP, does that mean we'll see it for about $225-$240? (SwisherPens, for example, sells Lamy products for about 75-80% of MSRP.) It's a gorgeous pen, but there are pens I like a lot more in that price range.

Well, looks like a heavy pen and I do love the L2K for it's light weight.

Think I will have a closer look at the pen when it comes to the shops....

I now want a pen that requires three or more hands to work the mechanism, I could use it as an excuse to meet new and interesting people.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of nothing at all...

I've always considered that particular gold nib kind of rude looking, and the tampon shape of the pen only enhances the effect. They could complete the look with a wrist strap....

Nn. Had for sure wanted one when I heard about it, but the shape of it just doesn't really do anything for me. I'll probably stick to my VP.

Probably pick up a Persona as my next Lamy.

Ach... that section looks not comfy at all. So far I am pretending I don't like it, then, we will see... thanks for the pictures!

Maybe if they made it in red, I'd get one....

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
