Nibmeister Europe with very good results

I was tired waiting for weeks or months turnaround time for grinding my pens. I have found a really very good nibmeister in Europe. Some of you will certainly know him, his name is John Sorowka. Turnaround time is very short and the results are awesome. I have no affiliations, but am just a satisfied customer.

I recently received a most wonderful gift of an Onoto, where the Italic Flex nib had been worked on by John Sorowka. It is one of the best nibs I have ever written with; I am truly impressed!

Have you any pictures of his work ? And possibly a link to a website ?

I do not believe he has a website; it is all word of mouth.

Here is a closeup of my Onoto's writing, taken from a note I wrote to John:

and here is a picture with the nib (like "Onoto the Pen", get it? Heh!)

John has tuned a few of my Pelikan's and helped out with other pens too. Ha ground me a B-stub on my Pel 140, and it is sublime. Just a happy customer &c but I can not but recommend him: excellent work, good service and fast turnaround. M.

John has worked on several of my pens with excellent results. His communication is excellent and turnround time approximately one week. In fact John was probably one of the best kept secrets here in the UK but not any more as his popularity continues to grow. For those of us who have pens he has worked on it's not hard to see why.

John (oxonian) has been my saving grace! He is a true gentleman and has real skills to boot.

I sent him a very poorly Estie I bought, which I'd been assured was working but the sac had petrified and the nib was in bad shape. Not only did he re-sac my pen, but he put a new nib in for me, too, which he'd tuned into a gentle stub, as per my request. It is now a beautiful writer which I shall cherish for many years.

In my opinion he deserves all the praise showered on him in this thread and I hope he reads it with pride.

Thank you, John.

Aahh, finally, a nib expert (as he doesn't want to be called a nibmeister ) emerges in Europe. :) There must have been someone, after all, hidden somewhere in a secret location, waiting for his hour to come ...

John does lots of nibs for me.

He took an everyday Parker 61 Fine and **poof** it's a great cursive italic which I use every single day.

Just a note even with the shipping time to and from the UK

It takes about 3 weeks to get nibs done from John.

So even US folks should consider him for ANY nib work other than re-tipping.

Yes I have an affiliation he's my friend.

John S is indeed an artist when it comes to nibs, and he is one of the nicest guys going. He has helped me so much.

I too can recomend John.

Last month, I sent him a Bexley Submariner and a Stipula 22 for nib ajustment. They were just not great writers. Now I Love em...

Super smooth, sometimes I can't believe it.

He also fixed a bent nib I had on a Omas 360. It's flexy and smooth now.

All I can say is THANKS JOHN for all your help.

Cheers,

Miguel

great information, finally good recommendations on this side of the water.

but it is really annoying that no one of all the praisers even hint at how to get in touch with him, not really helpful (apologies if I missed it!). Please share the contact info on John (unless he has forbidden it...), otherwise I don't see much motivation for this thread.

Sorry if I sound grumpy, it will pass.
