So Fountain Pen Day Is Coming...

Hello everybody,

 

Fountain Pen day is coming on Friday! One of my favorite days of the year! A day to spend time with a couple of friends and write a few letters to people, and even try to get some people to convert to fountain pens.

 

So I was wondering... what are you doing to prepare for this great day?

Probably take in the Pen Parade with the family, get home in time to put the fountain pen lights up, then sit down to the traditional Fountain Pen Day dinner. Then have the neighbors over for splashing privacy fences with colored inks by the light of the bonfires. Same as last year, but it's still big fun to us!

I like to write letter to my teacher and my parents on Thanksgiving Day ！HH...Then many people will use FN to write down their

 

expression in letter ！ As for me ， that day is my wonderful Day ！ ...........

 

And we alway use FN in my exam ！in addition ， we are less to ues Fountain Pen on daily day...ago....

 

But now since i graduate from my colleague ， i have started to be interested in Fountain Pen ！ i will write everyday ，

 

My first Pen is Duke Complete Esteem .....

I am going to start my new magnum opus. (No, I am not going to indulge in the NaNoWriMo madness) The research is done; the outline is made; the stacks of source material are arranged; supplies of malt and pipe tobacco are laid by; paper and ink are poised to become one. The pens will be a Sheaffer OS Balance and a desk Snorkel Valiant. The thing should be finished by spring.

I'm going to give an inked fountain pen to my colleague who is interested in them. And maybe write a letter.

Our family celebrates with community service. We will visit bank branches throughout the City and replace the ballpoints on chains with real pens of course.

I like these ideas! Personally, I think I will make a shirt written in Sharpie of course (oh, the irony) and wear that around all day. I also bought a box of Pilot Varsities in order to convert some people! Ill be like the giver of great things, I can imagine it now... Walking around throwing pens in the air in slow motion, and a bunch of crazed people flocking to catch them... Well at least that is how I hope it will turn out!

There are some inks and samples I want to order, and Friday seems as good a time as any.

Plus, I'm trying to put together an entry for the conteste on the FP Day website. And that may be the day that I finally take the time to try my hand at resacking some pens....

I am set for tomorrow's big midnight church service with the blessing of the pens. Then afterwards go home and hunt for bottles of various colored ink that the Pen Bunny hid throughout the house. We will then decorate the desk, leaving the pen cup empty for Santa's big arrival later in the night. I am soooo excited!!

I'm going on a unicorn hunt! lol. That is to say I'm trying to find other FP users in the Athens, Greece area, because there are times where it sure feels like I must be the only one, judging by the rarity of pens and inks in the area So I put a notice in the Events section of the forum saying I'll be at a specific coffee shop tomorrow evening, and urging other pen people to turn up there

 

That's pretty much all I could come up with on such short notice! I only remembered this like Monday or Tuesday. After I missed last year's I had big plans for this year, like buying up a bunch of Preppys and Heros, numbering them, and releasing them into the wild with a note as to what they are and the address to one or two forums about pens, so people can hopefully come here and tell us about them, that kind of thing :-) But then I forgot about it until just a few days ago and there was no time to do anything that elaborate, so the meet-up is all I could come up with! Judging from the low number of views (just 18 in a whole two days of being up!) and the complete lack of any replies, not even PMs, I reckon I better bring a good book because I think I'll be spending those two hours just sitting there

Aww Plume 145--I feel bad for you! Since it's drizzling freezing rain here where I live, I'd love to meet up in a Grecian coffee shop and bring all my pens and paper!!! You're a dedicated Fountain Pen Evangelist!
