Parker Nib Chart Location

Dear all - Someone a while back on this forum (I believe) posted a photocopy of a chart showing the meaning of all the different letters and numbers stamped onto the feed of Duofolds and Sonnets and the like. I found it earlier today, but now I cannot remember what the name of the post is to look it up again (and bookmark it this time!). It was not the first post on the thread, but three or four in if memory serves. Can anyone help me track it down?

Many thanks. MS

Mshepp3, not sure if this is what you are referring to but I might have once posted the charts below. I think someone else also posted a chart with slightly different codes. The bottom one is for Duofold.

Wow Joane... This is not the one I found before, but it is better so a big "THANK YOU" out to you. And now it will be in My Content, so I will be able to find it whenever I need it. You are the bomb diggity... and that's a good thing. MS

BTW - I see you have almost a thousand posts... which boggles the mind... and that you live in Canada. Although I was born and raised in Bermuda, and currently live and work in Saudi Arabia, I consider Vancouver, BC to be home. Be well and thanks again. MS

You're most welcome. I will wear my "bomb diggity" title proudly!

Re the Duofold nibs, at the time I received that chart there were 24 nib styles but some time after that Parker reduced the number to 14. Not sure how many there are today, given the limited Duofold models being made now.

Very welcome. Glad they are helpful. The top chart came from a request to Parker years ago and the bottom chart from an authorized Parker dealer at the time so I think they're pretty official.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
