Hi :)

I'm writing here on behalf of www.fountainpen.it forum. I wanted to let you know about a unique pen Visconti made for forum users/pen enthusiasts from all over the world. It's a unique pen (an oversize Opera in the wonderful burlwood celluloid) we're auctioning here : http://forum.fountainpen.it/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=4220

The link includes a detailed description of the pen in English as well in the second half of the post.

The posts also includes instructions about bidding rules, auction duration and all.

We'd like to wholeheartedly thank FPN administrators, as they allowed us to share this initiative with pen lovers from abroad as well, in accordance with our forum's apprach to fountain pens' world.

Enjoy

Just as an addition: do check this out, it is a unique pen indeed, not just for Italian pen lovers :D.

I would also like to state here, that fountainpen.it and fountainpennetwork.com will, where possible, combine forces in pen projects to follow, in order to create good deals for our members here and on fountainpen.it, for special, limited edition pens available only through our sites. This way we will be able to keep costs as low as possible for everybody here, and further strengthen our good relations and friendships with fountainpen.it members :).

Warmest regards, Wim

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

      >Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color,<   I'm sure they were, and my answer assumes that. It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film. Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
