How To Remove The Clip On A Lamy Al Star

Hi! I thought I would share this procedure with you all. Here is how I performed the clip excision on my Lamy Al Star. The inside of the cap has a brass plate when viewed from inside the cap. This needs to be held in place so you can unscrew the plastic top off. Here are the steps:

 

1. Insert the eraser end of a pencil into the cap.

2. Set the non eraser end on a hard surface and push against the brass cap with the eraser end.

3. Unscrew the black plastic tab on the top of the cap using a penny while applying pressure on the brass side with the eraser end of the pencil.

4. The black cap will come off and you can then wiggle the clip off.

5. Reassemble.

It is quite possible. Unfortunately, I do not have a Safari I can try it on. Perhaps someone could attempt it an let us know.
