Note:

I doubt it. They are wholesalers.

Yes you can.

But I have heard minumum sale is 100 nibs of the same size.

That is why with the sale of our own FPN limited edition pens the option for a gold nib instead of the T-flex nib was possible but only if 100 persons would buy the nib in the same size (so 100 broad, 100 medium etc).

The same: a shop will have to buy 100 nibs.

So you will have to get it from the factory making your pen, or from a nibmeister with a high turnover, such as Richard Binder.

The minimum for Bock varies depending on the product. There is a big difference between a standard Bock design and custom work. You can look on Bock's site to get an idea of their standard products. JoWo, Bock's German competitor, works much in the same way.

For standard Bock nibs, dealers such as nibs.com and some pen turning sites offer a limited selection of Bock, JoWo, and Schmidt nibs. See nibs.com generic Bock nibs page as an example.

See also Brian Gray's MeisterNib (JoWo) page.

But the application that the OP wants is a bit special. I now understand Hari's question about the length of the Pilot #50 nib in the large nib thread.

The OP is looking for a 40 mm long nib. Unfortunately, the largest standard Bock nib is 35 mm. I believe the JoWo nibs are about the same size.

So if you want a 40+ mm long nib, it will have to be custom ordered and that will require a large minimum order.

If you want a large nib for that big Indian pen, try a Victorian gold dip pen nib. Those are about the right size for that large Indian pen. You'll have to find a feed that will work and keep up with the flexible dip pen nib.

It is possible to get your own nib from Peter Bock AG.

There are a lot of possibilities:

1.) The triple system with a stainless stell, gold or titan nib

http://www.peter-bock.com/content/e4/e39/index_ger.html

The triple system with stainless stell cost between 2.15 and 2.20 Euro dependend on the nib tip.

The gold nibs a little bit more.

2.) The minimum value of ordering should be 500 Euro.

If you take only a few nibs, than you have to pay 50 Euro for order execution.

3.) If you want to get your brand logo and name than you have to order a minimum of 5000 nibs.

Only with this charge/amount it is possible that the development and production will be economically.

But Bock has no converters. Here you can go to Schmidt Technology.

http://www.schmidttechnology.de/de/schreibgeraete/produkte/fuellhaltersysteme/c_1_3_1.htm

The stainless steel nibs like the new FH 452 are produced by JoWo and the gold nibs come from Bock AG.

So you see even Schmidt Technology gets their nibs from Bock and JoWo!

The price range for steel nib are between 2.83 and 3.33 Euro dependend on the nib tip.

Or you can go to JoWo. But JoWo producess only the nibs without feeder and bushing.

There is a corporation between JoWo and Writing Instruments Network.

http://www.writing-instruments-network.de/

Because WIN produces the feeder and the bushing and uses the JoWo nibs.

I hope the information is useful for you.

SHK, this is a valuable review of the possibilities; especially for those of us with dreams of designing better pens.

In my case it's a better eyedropper. (By the way, how do you decide what is the optimum feed length for an eyedropper!?)

Here's a thought; would there be sufficient interest among FPN members to purchase individual Bock nibs/feeds/sections from a fellow member who made that investment in the minimum order requirement?

Hello Ernest,

1.) What I know is that Schmidt wants no fees for order execution, when ordering value is under 500 Euro.

2.) Do you mean 10 nibs with a few? I should say that I want to start a project my fountain pen project.

With a few nibs I meant 150 to 200 nibs.

3.) Like all producers (Schmidt,Bock,WIN) they only show their sortiment. Never prices! Just write them an email!

I forgotten to mention yesterday that there is an other method to get your brand name and logo on a nib!

Normally the name and logo are part of the mould tool.

Writing Instruments Network offers the method of laser engraving.

Herefore you should have your logo and name in a very high pdf resolution or better an .eps format and you have to pay the fees for the adjusment.

I will certainly be interested in the 40mm nibs.

In case you wish to write to me, pls use ONLY email by clicking here. I do not check PMs. Thank you.
