Pilot 78G Converters

I just bought a Pilot 78G pen and am looking at Pilot converters. I know that Pilot makes at least three types of converters. They are the :

1. The short aerometric type with side squeeze bar. The CON-20 converter.

2. The longer piston (twist) type. The CON-50 converter.

3. The push button type converter. (I don't know the name of this one). The CON-70 converter?

 

I need some help in choosing a converter for my pen and had a couple of questions to ask someone familiar with Pilot converters.

 

Can you use all three of these Pilot converters with the Pilot 78G pen?

Does anyone know the pros and cons of each these converters?

Which of these converters would be the best one to use with the Pilot 78G pen? Thank you.

I would just use a con-20 quick easy no fuss. con 50 tad more $$ but higher ink volume, con70 will not fit

I have tried both CON 20 and CON 50 converters in my Pilot 78G. Both are good, but I prefer the CON 50. I never seem able to get a full pen with the CON 20, but that is just personal preference.

Every 78G we have bought (7 so far) came with a converter that looked vaguely like the CON-20.

The Pilot 78G pen that I bought is being shipped right now. It may come with a CON-20 type converter, I don't know. Thanks everyone for your replies.

The ones I bought had these, I think, with a metal strip around 2 sides of the sac. They seemed very flimsy and with at least one of them I could not get much ink into the pen. So I pulled all of them and replaced them with Pilot cartridges,which I'll re-fill.

The converter that comes with the Pilot 78G also comes with the Pilot Parallel as a cleaning converter.

 

You can see the cleaning converter in the picture at Goulet Pens (no association, happy customer, etc.).

 

The converters only hold about 1 ml of ink plus whatever you can get into the feed.
