I didn't know they actually look this good. I am still amazed on what you can do with FP drawing/sketching wise. I can't wait to see you draw something with a flex pen

Hard to find as good a fp for such a great price. I recently bought a trio of Pilot 78G's for $20, each with a different sized nib, i.e. one fine, one med and one broad. Like fine the best.

 

I took the suggestion of another FPN 78G aficionado and removed the "fake" cap ring; classier look.

I didn't know these came in international cartridge versions. Mine use Pilot cartridges/converters.

I sent Watch Art his 78G and yes, this specific 78G, which was found in Europe was produced to take international cartridges. I brought back a whole shoe box of 78G and I am down to my last few pens, I only have a handful of Teal with M nib left. I've gave many away, I've sold a bunch and I kept a few for myself.

 

One of my fellow teacher here in Japan bought 10 of them and got 10 boxes of J Herbin cartridges and filled them with different colors.

I am amazed by the drawing too! There is an artist in Japan that draws FP and they publish his drawing in a famous pen magazine, I think Watch Art could give him a run for his money.

I like my 78Gs. They write very well, look nice, are very reliable and are inexpensive enough not to hurt too bad if they get lost. They are great starter pens, except when they continue to outperform some of the "better" (read "more expensive") pens that folks later upgrade to.

It looks for 78G that it's the same thing as for the Pilot Plumix or Pluminix : the pens sold for Europe use the international cartridges, and those for the Japanese or American market use Pilot cartridges and converter.

But I didn't know (And I'm happy to discover with Samovar !! ) the existence of European 78G !! I have three pen, all bought from Japan, with Pilot converters...

Thanks! It'd be greaterer if I would get off my duff and put a new movement in it. My boy slammed this one against the floor and it runs about 20 minutes fast a day. A movement is only 20-30 something and I'd wear it... but... just haven't done it.

I bought 3 78G's, one each in F, M and B. I like the fine the best. The bold writes VERY dry. Not sure if it is defective or what, but for less than $20 for the three of them I guess I'm not going to complain.

 

Anyone else have this experience with the Bold nib?

I'd hack the feed if it were my pen. Make it juicy.
