The colors the Lady Patricia had were for the most part the same colors on the Patrician--

turquoise(gold & blue),nacre(black & pearl),onyx,jade green. Black and moss agate were

two colors omitted from the Lady Patricia palette. OTOH,Persian--a creamy color with red,

green and brown swirls in it and a fancy capband--was part of the Lady Patricia line and is

sometimes found on Waterman 94's. Persian is one of those colors that is a rare find and

even rarer if it isn't discolored.

I have a Moss Agate lady Patrician???

They also came in Ink-Vue versions and Sterling Silver

If no one else posts one first I have an ad that shows all the colors.

I'll scan it and post it asap.

My desktop computer is a bit under the weather just now.

Just checked the ad...

Onyx, Persian, JET Black, Sterling Silver, Moss Agate, Turquoise & Nacre

Interesting no Jade?

www.pencollectorsofamerica.com Reference Library has a 1936 Waterman's catalog..it shows Onyx, Persian, Jet, Moss Agate

Additionally it has the Ink Vue style in Sunset (red), Mist(green/gray) and Black Lace

The PCA Reference Library is a terrific source of information.

And I have seen black, too.

They are nice mint stickered too ;)

Of course there is something to be said for Turquoise.

And then of course there are the Ink-Vue Lady Pat colors.

Fun subject :)

thanks, folks. the reason i'm asking is that i'm in ho chi minh city right now and am looking at a lady patricia whose barrel is almost translucent white, hardly a bit of discoloration, with white gold trim. have never seen anything like it. the only downside is what appears to be a crack in the cap that i hope can be mended by ron zorn's skills, if i decide to get this pen. i have a few hours left here to make up my mind. i'm wondering if this is the "nacre" version mentioned by steve above?

Steve,

You're right about the moss agate and black and ink-vue versions(this one with a

see-through red "ink window" pertinent to only the LP)..........my 1/2 brain was only

1/2 working......... :headsmack:

Nacre is black/pearl (not unlike a Sheaffer).

Lady Pat is not an area of high focus for me, though I own or have owned a bunch, but translucent white sounds surprising. There are later Lady Pat pens in "Ink Vue" style in medium gray with translucent middle area and with white trim, but not sure that is what you describe. There might be Canadian/English pens not of typical color, but again I am uncertain. Coud your pen be faded?

If it has those red and green swirls in it(see David i's discolored version above),it's likely that it's

Persian. Nacre is a black and pearl(which in many cases the pearl has yellowed).

hmmm, the mystery deepens. fading is certainly possible, as the cap of the pen seemed much darker than the barrel. will pay the pen (and the rest of the mother lode--a heap of vintage pens in a shop in saigon's antiques row) later today, and will try to haggle the price down to a point where it'll be worth buying a nice pen with a cracked cap. ;)

My guess is that the "almost translucent white" Lady Patricia might be the (usually) Canadian version of Persian that is mostly cream and blue.

See the pen and pencil on the far right of this picture:

Since I had it handy, here is a pic of many of the Lady Patricia colors:

Not a common color, but commonly found pretty well wrecked, leaving it less common when uncommonly found clean.

The Persian pen with the different cap band (pierced diamond shapes) is the 52V. The Persian Lady Patricia has the same style trim as the other Lady Pat colors.

Greg,

Wouldn't that be a 92V? I thought that the Waterman 52 only came in BHR.

It is a weird one, but it is a 52V. There is also a persian 94.
