San Francisco Pen Show 2025 - Show us your new toys!

Here are mine: I had a long "to do" list for the show as usual. Not pictured, the 5 nibs I had ground by J. J. Lax to crisp cursive italic. Great job on all of them and great conversation about favorite quotable Supreme Court justices of yesteryear. And I had a Leonardo Momento Zero Grande 2.0 I had ordered directly from Leonardo with a #8 14kt 1.1mm Stub. They sent the pen with a Broad nib, so Salvatore brought the stub and did the nib swap and nib tuning at the show. The one pen I purchased was a Leonardo Momento Magico in Conway-Stewart Pistachio, one of my favorite materials. It has a smooth and crisp-writing steel 1.1mm stub. Leonardo was selling the Rickshaw "Fillmore" pen case with the cubist design Leonardo is now using on their ink bottles. I bought one. A few weeks back, I asked Jonathon Brooks if he could engrave some JoWo nibs with the Griffin design from the seal of my alma mater, Reed College. He brought a prototype to the show for me. I think he did a great job. I'm going to order a bunch of them for gifts to Reed calligraphers. I pretty much accomplished all the items on my list, but they were just "stuff." The most enjoyable part of pen shows is reconnecting with pen friends, whether it's for a long and deep conversation or just a congenial greeting. Happy writing! David-
