Van Dieman’s Feline, Kitten Paws Ink Review # 196 --- 🧾 Description Ink belongs to the Feline series by Van Dieman’s, made in Tasmania, Australia. I didn’t enjoy the writing experience with this ink. It was watery pink/beige, brown. Lubrication slightly below average. I had some problems with my Kanwrite with the FPR flex nib and Kakuno EF nib. Now the nibs are not the best, but as I only had a 2 ml sample, I cannot be 100 percent sure. However, drawing and doing washes with this ink was fun. The colour was complex. I scanned and color-corrected the images in vain; it took more time than writing the review itself, so you’re stuck with photos! I had to use Open Camera as my phones camera couldn't capture the colour. As I was inept in using it, many of the photos have been squashed in size, my apologies in advance. 🙏 I scanned and color-corrected the images in vain, which took more time than the review itself, so you're stuck with photos. In the comparison you can savour the deformed images of many scanned swatches in this range. --- 🧪 Chroma The best thing about this ink. Not necessarily a chroma, but how a drop of ink separates on tissue paper. --- ✍️ 📸 Writing Samples (Photos) Rhodia Midori Tomoe River 68gsm Iroful Hammermill 20lb Close-up 🔍 Comparison Many of these inks have been deformed by the scanner. I didn’t enjoy the writing experience but as a sketching ink, and for washes it has a lot of depth and nuance. No fountain pens were hurt in preparing this review.
