    I am currently refurbishing an Eversharp Doric Airliner and am looking to buy a replacement piston rod as the vulcanite sleeve has split at the front end and expanded to 2.2mm diameter so it won’t easily pass through the barrel seal. I think that the original rod is probably mild steel inside the vulcanite sleeve and will rust when in contact with the ink? The undamaged end of the rod measures 2.15 mm diameter. I’ve attached a photo of showing the split in the vulcanite sleeve and wondered if anyone can suggest a repair or preferably a source for a replacement? I have full measurements of the component. My brief enquiries to possible UK suppliers have so far drawn a blank. I also need a new flat piston rod seal but I’m assuming I’ll be able to buy or make these relatively easy? Any advice would be much appreciated as the pen is almost mint apart from the rod and seal washer.
