Back views of the barrels after removing the filling mechanism. In the case of the standard 100N (ca.1942)(right), the barrel was constructed by applying a sleeve made of green marbled cellulose acetate (arrow head) over a transparent green acrylic resin (arrow). When viewed from the inside, the marbled pattern of the sleeve is visible through the transparent acrylic resin. In the case of the Milan model 100N (ca.1942)(left), the barrel is made entirely of marbled celluloid, and the marbled pattern is visible all the way through to the inside.
