Welcome, Karen! I've become completely addicted to your products and love them all! I'll jump right in and be the first to ask you a question. Someone posted these beautiful Clairefontaine notebooks from France a while back. Can you tell me if they will be available to us in the USA in the future or if there is a way to order them? Thanks!

Warm regards,

Lynne

Hi Lynne,

Clairefontaine in France actually carries a lot more collections than what we import here into the US. However, I will check on this particular design and get back to you with an answer in the next few days. Be well, Karen

Welcome, Karen! Hope you know you are amongst friends. :) What fountain pen(s) do you use?

Hi Margana, my current favorite is a yellow Sailor 1911 with a fine nib. Since I'm left-handed, fine nibs tend to work best for me. Otherwise, I tend to smear some letters. The other pen I carry around is a burgundy Sheaffer from the early 1960s. It tend to like pens that are lighter, that I feel balance in my hand well, and have some history to them. I usually to buy my pens at pen shows, from Art Brown or Pendemonium. Sam from Pendemonium is on the lookout for a Doric for me, but she says she hasn't found the right one yet. Be well, Karen

Hi Soki, I would be happy to check on retailers in Australia for you. I believe there are at least two or three that sell J. Herbin, Rhodia, Clairefontaine and G. Lalo stationery. Best regards, Karen

Hi Soki, there are two places in Australia that now stock Rhodia, Clairefontaine, and, I think, J. Herbin, Quo Vadis and G. Lalo stationery. Please try Telegram or Borders. Telegram's website is http://telegram.net.au. However, if you can't find what you want let me know, and I'll be glad to help. Karen

Welcome, Karen! I'm a long time fan of the Exacompta line of products, especially the journals with Clairefontaine paper. Actually I'm a fan of practically anything with Clairefontaine paper! I'll look forward to your news of products forthcoming as well as info about existing ones. Thanks for taking the time to connect with those of us who use Exacompta materials.

Karen,

Welcome.

I use J. Herbin Perle Noire exclusively for black. I also very much like Eclat de Saphir for blue. What about making bigger bottles (50 ml)?

I must admit to being a big fan of a big fan of Clairefointaine and Rhodia papers.

What about a discount for loyal customers? Or perhaps something like: Buy 2 Exaclair products get 10% off the 3rd? This might arguably expose a wider line of your products to each individual customer and perhaps even attract on-the-fence customers to coming into the fold, while keeping loyal customers pleased with the discount?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
