The Fellowship of the Danitrio

I was talking to Oboejuan and I thought (cue crazy music) we should start an informal group....The Fellowship of the Danitrio. A group founded on an addiction to and love of Danitrio Pens.

What do you guys think? Am I nuts already

We could do a t-shirt and plan trips to siege Winedoc's castle for pen booty or visit the artist's in Japan. Even plan a meeting at the LA Pen Show!

You know I dream big, dream with me! :cloud9:

What do you think? B)

Absolutely! What about the secret handshake I mentioned? Ideas, anyone? Oooh. Let's get all Medieval and come up with a little tiny symbol that we can put in our signatures and on our business cards that make people go "Hm? I wonder what that means?" and only we shall know...

Why, sometimes I'd like to take a switchblade and a peppermint and a Cadillac and throw it all in a fire.

How about a gold nib hovering above a silver "grail" or "graal" chalice with ethereal blue flames surrounding it? When we're all rich after winning various lotto's, we can have Danitrio create our graal pens with Tame-nuri urushi and gold and platinum maki-e and raden/abalone embedded for those flames.

One thing that I have seen on other forums, everyone puts the motto in their signature. Maybe a design that we could have made into a t-shirt, paper pads, mug... the list goes on.

What would be a good design?

We could start with everyone who joins adding "The Fellowship of the Danitrio" to their signature. What do you all think?

Excellent idea. I shall now start the hour long process of remembering how to change my signature!

Oooooh! Dare I suggest that we contact his Lordship and we start the process of getting a custom Danitrio just for us? Kogaku, Kevin... May we have a word?

Kinda long. Simple and mysterious (to non FP persons): The Danitrio Fellowship?

Sorry Kevin, Watched the Return of the King last weekend.

I just thought since we have all gone kookoo for Dani, we should wear the badge proudly.

And of course, target your pen horde!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
