Indeed a bummer. I wrecked a nib a week or two ago thinking I was just going to remove it. It was from a pen in my rotation and I was really upset about it.

But we have to accept losses. Your nib looks repairable, or at least replaceable, and I'm sure you'll feel better after time heals this wound. Right after it happens though, oh I know that feeling :( !

I squeezed it a little bit but being completely unknowing about nibs, I then became afraid of doing more harm than good. I know. I know. But it was my BEST pen and BRAND new and I LOVE it. What can I say. I am an overprotective mommy.

I totally know where you're coming from, and I think you're doing the right thing sending the pen to Dillon. When it comes to adjusting nibs, I think rule #1 should be never do more than you are comfortable doing unless you are prepared to deal with having ruined the nib. Anyway, I think you can take heart that all will be set well. I thought your nib was going to look a little more like this: http://nibs.com/repairs.html

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!! Warn me next time you are going to link to pictures like that! Now I have to go eat luch all over again. You should blow those up and use them for Halloween decorations. Very scarry! I am getting shivers again just thinking about that 3 piece nib!!!!

I hadn't seen the pictures the first time, but this really isn't bad at all. Chupie, you might be able to fix it yourself. The nib may not feel exactly like before, but it is definitely fixeable. If you don't feeel up to it, send it to a repairman. He/she should be able to fix it easily.

As much as it seems that the tines can be straightened with a thumb flick trick, I would do so carfully just in case there is a crack from the fall which may cause the tine to break off. My 2 cents.
