Sorry to hear about your pen. :(

Way to go Dillon! :bunny1: :bunny1:

Keep us posted on how it goes (great I'm sure).

Dillon has restored a bent nib for me, so I am sure he can do the job and his price is very resonable and FAST!! We all have dropped pens before, at least the pen is made of ebonite... now imagine if it is made of precious resin

If Dillon took one look and say the nib is bent beyond hope of repair, please give me an email.

Best of luck to ya!!

Hi,

I think it is a bit minor.

Chupie, I feel for your pain, BUT, I was expecting to see a nib that looked like it had been through a meat grinder... Not just tine misalignment....

When I dropped a Pelikan GO on the tile floor, the nib basically bent itself backward over the body.... fortunately Pelikan replaced it for free....

YES, It is painful, but like a scraped knee, it feels and looks worse than it is... I think you got a fixer there... and it is nice of Dillon to offer to do it for you...

Really doesn't look too bad! I think even my clumsy-fingered butt would have a chance at getting that right. I'm sure Dillon could have fixed a far worse off nib.

I squeezed it a little bit but being completely unknowing about nibs, I then became afraid of doing more harm than good. I know. I know. But it was my BEST pen and BRAND new and I LOVE it. What can I say. I am an overprotective mommy.

I totally know where you're coming from, and I think you're doing the right thing sending the pen to Dillon. When it comes to adjusting nibs, I think rule #1 should be never do more than you are comfortable doing unless you are prepared to deal with having ruined the nib. Anyway, I think you can take heart that all will be set well. I thought your nib was going to look a little more like this: http://nibs.com/repairs.html

That's the one I saw. No, not THAT bad, but bad enough. I would have been utterly crushed. Looks like they ran over it or something.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
