deep breaths. I'm sure this is not irreparable. Contact Kevin and ask what can be done and at what $.

i don't think there's a one of us here who hasn't dropped a pen and some of us have been fortunate to not break it, some not so fortunate.

you're not stupid. stuff happens.

best,

Very sad.

I remember last year I was in a meeting with my bank manager, and I dropped my beloved Esterbrook J (I know, is a cheapie, but I LOVE it), and I noticed that one of the 'jewels' was broken. :bonk: :bonk:

The manager went :

- Well, can you please sign here and here?

- WAIT, let me see if I can find the broken piece on the floor under your desk!!

- Now, please, sign here and he...

- WAIT, let me see if my pen writes well...!!

- Can you plea...

- WAIT, let me cry a bit...

By the way, the pen writes wonderfully, but the 'jewel' is still broken. To see my beloved Estie with a piece missing is sooo painful that I wasn't able to use it anymore...

Inhale... Exhale...

I'm sure either Kevin or a nibmeister can solve your problem without you spending too much.

It happens...

:o Okay, just breathe...it will be okay. I remember when I dropped my Taccia and the cap exploded in 4 pieces...it was healed and your nib will be, too. :)

My condolances on your loss. As others have said, contact Kevin and see if the nib can be replaced or repaired, it should be fairly straight forward. Again, my condolances.

I'm a bit puzzled by the title of your thread chupie... I know it's not a nice feeling to bend a nib, but it's not a reason to remove your vest...

And this board still needs a sobbing smiley icon.

I feel your pain Chupie...

I hope this one will suffice your sobbing needs:

To be very honest, I think a brand new nib will be much cheaper than having a Nibmeister work on it. You will not only spend more money but also ALOT of downtime too.

Kevin can hook you up and the replacement nibs are really not all that bank breaking.

Dillon is going to help me out. I know he does good work and fast so it will be fine. It really is a bummer though. 1 week. I only had it 1 lousy week. It's like when you break your favorite Christmas toy only a couple days after getting it.

My condolences, Chupie.

A few years ago I dropped my beloved Tortoise 400, and John Mottisaw made it perfect once again.

Best wishes to you, and a speedy recovery for your Dani's fine nib.

I too feel your pain, and I had a feeling Dillon would offer to help. Not quite the same, but I can still remember losing my first Pelikan the same day I bought it. I got home from the pen store and all I had clipped to my shirt was a cap . Hope Dillon can set things back the way they were. Good luck!

The crying smilie has jagged teeth, and reminds me of a piranha. :) I am glad that Dillon will fix your pen.

Some years ago, I did the same thing with my Parker 75. I felt the same way.

Thanks to John Mottishaw, it was restored completely. Every time I use it I'm reminded of why I always liked it so much.

At that time, it was one of two or three fountain pens that I used almost daily. Now, well, it's one of a large and growing number.

If it is any consolotation, I have dropped so many FPs, destroying some nibs and "modifying" others  I have lost one or two, I have destroyed one or two by soaking them in alcohol  . I have also crushed the cap of my chrome Targa when I dropped it in some classroom, and then pushed my chair forward to get closer to pick it up. Woops, the leg of the chair landed right on top of the cap end  Or was that another pen's cap and I just stepped over the targa cap? :roflmho:

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
