Bullet proof Montblanc Scenium Gell pen

You can use a Parker Gell refil in the Montblanc Scenium fine-liner.

That way you get a black heavy duty gell pen.

Here is how to do it:

If you want to use a MB Scenium with Parker Gell fill you can do this as follows. Buy a MB Scenium fineliner and a Parker Gell fill. Take a cheap ballpoint with click mechanism, take the ballpoint apart, you will need the spring.

Cut the spring at about 1/2 of its length, you should be able to compress the spring piece to about 5mm. Remove the fineliner fill from the Scenium. Put the spring on the Parker Gell fill. Put the Parker Gell fill in the Scenium barrel, pusch it all the way into the barrel, then release. The Gell fill will in rest stick about 11mm out of the back of the barrel. Put something with the length of 23mm in the Scenium barrel top, this part will then stick about 1.5mm out of the barrel top. I used the plastic click mechanism of the cheap ballpount for this.

Now screw the barrel top into the Scenium. This will push the Gell refill just the right amont into the barrel. And voila, you have a Scenium with the writing pleasure of Parker Gell ink. http://home.planet.nl/~flere-imsaho/scenium/mbs3.jpg

The only problem is that the Gell fills are made to be used with the point pointing down. So if you have them in the Scenium for a long time the refill will leak a little bit at the backend (but the ink stays inside the Scenium) and if you have not used it for a long while you will have to shake the pen to get the ink back to the point.

Enjoy!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
