Hey what's that ink spot on your middle finger?

Aurora Blue. It matches the blue jewel almost exactly.

However, I've now changed the ink to Private Reserve Midnight Blues; I find that I can only stick with standard shades for so long.

Nice looking cup of black coffee. It would go well with brown ink!

My gear today:

You suck dude, :D :

My gear today was a hard hat & reflective vest. I did get to wear jeans, and boots, though. The hard hat weighs less than the ACH, and no body armor (whoo hoo). Ah, the old days ...(which were less than three months ago, btw.)

New 149 broad with MB black. The bold strokes from a 149 chassis is fun. :happyberet:

146 B nibbed gold overlay with Pousserie de Lune - lovely purple suits it.

So you're the one who got this pen. Congrats!

Heavy and bold, your cup of tea (and mine). :happyberet:

Yep. After a visit from the non-existent Wet Squad, QM2 graciously [most likely when threatened with freshly sharpened XXXFs] consented to sell it to me. :bunny01:

I never thought I'd love a gold pen since the bulk of my collection is silver or silver overlay, but it's even more beautiful in person than it was in pictures and I get a silly smile on my face every time I pick it up. :vbg:

I can see why it didn't suit her writing style tho' - this is as wet and broad as I could ever dream of. I can write at a rate of knots even with my scrawl and it keeps up. If it was any wetter, it'd be too wet and I never thought I'd say that of any pen. :yikes:

Good to hear GP.

Ever since I got my 149 B I haven't been able to figure out why I liked fine nibs.

It is a good thing that my broad nibs have the large ink capacity of piston fillers. If I were using a cart or convertor, I'd be refilling way too often.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
