Evening greetings from DocNib's PenEmporium! I've literally just received this batch of goodies yesterday, photographed them en-mass and now the whole 'lot' is ready for some lucky person to take them away! I might be off-line for possibly a month as my wife is still very ill and not getting any better and with some other stuff going on, my time will be at a premium and prevent me from spending quality time with all my pen-friends & customers ('cuz you guys are da BEST!).

This group is being sold "As Is" and hasn't been cleaned or diddled with, but should bring lots of hours of fun and hopefully fill a number of holes in someone's collection. A quick list of the goodies (a very basic list!) is:

50-Sheaffer Cartridge/School FP's w/assorted steel nibs (open & fingernail style) in assorted transparent & opaque colored barrels.

26-Sheaffer Desk FP's w/steel, gold-plated & 14K nibs and with cartridge,touchdown or snorkel fillers.

11-Assorted brands of Desk FP's including an Esterbrook desk BP (a skinny one!).

9-Assorted dip-pens in wood, BHR (these are oldies!, including a 3-sided grip pen) and/or metal, all have some type of nib installed.

8-Assorted FP's with steel, GP or 14K nibs.

17-Wearever assorted style FP's.

1-Venus BP w/retract button at top of clip

1-Eagle PCL w/"Moon & Stars" pattern

1-Bankers PCL in Green Marble w/Red

1-Sheaffer PCl in Black & Red "ringed" pattern

1-Sheaffer GF Stratowriter BP from the 1940's w/nose-piece cap

126 FP's, Dip-Pens, PCL's & BP's in all with only 3-PCL's, 3-BP's and the majority being FP-type with some neat "dips" in the mix. Stockpile them or clean 'em up or learn how to refurbish, like I said before...lots of hours of fun with this group of goodies!

Wow, I'd actually be so tempted by this deal if the economics hadn't fallen apart.

And I also send my best wishes on your wife getting better soon.

On a sacred quest for the perfect blue ink mixture!

Thanks for the well wishes, they are greatly appreciated. However, I would kindly ask that people don't post about the "bad" economic conditions when someone is trying to sell something. Many people are in a bad way right now (financially & mentally), but there are those who are still sound & can take advantage of offers like this. More power to those who can, but comments like these, which while not malicious in nature, can swing those on the fence against the seller and lose a sale that could be a great help indeed...

I hope this message is taken in the spirit that it is meant...a lot of us need more "positivity" than "negativity" to help us get thru the long road ahead.

Best To ALL,

DocNib & Family

Good point, DocNib!

Remember the song with the lyrics:

"Accentuate the positive,

Eliminate the negative,

Latch on the affirmative,

Don't mess with Mr. In-Between"

The generation that enjoyed it sure learned something about looking for the sunshine - 'cause often its just a plain and simple choice.

Best,

mike

p.s. plus, as far as buying and selling go, isn't it really a lot of fun!! :-) like Christmas morning all over again, especially with fps (at least for me)

"All men [sic] of whatsoever quality they be, who have done anything of excellence, or which may properly resemble excellence, ought, if they are persons of truth and honesty, to describe their life with their own hand; but they ought not to attempt so fine an enterprise till they have passed the age of forty. This duty occurs to my own mind, now that I am trevelling beyond the term of fifty-eight years, . . . I am now more free . . . . " Cellini

The dips are pretty neat in this batch, especially the old BHR ones, which are kind of hard to see the detail, but one has a long knurled grip, one is just long & rounded, another is a triangular grip and the last one is shot & rounded (they're all fairly thick diameter!). The bronze & mosaic inlay dip is actually part of a desk set that I never did complete (seen pics of the other pieces). Fun stuff!

This is the official start, will price items to folks who e-mail to me at docnib@msn.com (please send me direct correspondence instead of PM'ing or posting an "I WANT" message on the board).

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
