Here's my one and only Danitrio. The photos are Kevin's:

Stunning pen, Siv... not my style, but it is a gorgeous pen and a fantastic and perfect work. Congratulations...

I am adding my Mae West Red Hana-nuri (distressed finish). I also have a raw ebonite Mae West, but no photos of that one yet.

These photos show how the colour changes as the sun comes out from behind the clouds : )

Oh a bump of an old thread and with more Danitrio picture goodies to review! :notworthy1:

A quick shot of my Danitrio collection. However I'm expecting a couple more to arrive any day. I will update when I think I've finally reached Danitrio Nirvana... in other words it'll be a long while before that happens; just enjoying the journey right now!

Still waiting on a couple other Dani's in transit from our resident pen pusher! :headsmack: When does this ever end? Please end soon? OK... don't end ever!

Hey, where did the beautiful blue Mae West go?

Just had an apple in my hand and my Roiro migaki Mikado on the desk... It was easy to decide and pick up the camera and do some shots...

My two don't compare, but here they are:

Purple Hana Nuri Mae West, and Raw Ebonite Mikado.

Two of my very favorite pens.

This one arrived today... It's absolutely freshhhh...

Yes, a Mikado in purple (more dark red) very rich Ishimei Urushi, with a good surface texture ... Photos are not easy to take at all as the color depth is sectacular in this pen... A master work by Koichiro Okazaki (Kogaku). He and Urushi are a perfect couple (and Maki-e... and whatever he does, I think...)

Yea, right. NOTHING to worry about with these two guys.

If there is a worldwide Dani famine, we'll know who to go to, right?

:crybaby:

I'm normally not a believer in class envy....

Beautiful pens, guys.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
