Dannitu 100

I bought this pen at an Ebay store called "Ultra Collections". It arrived today by mail. It's a really beautiful pen, quite slim but I like slim pens. It cost me only $3 plus shipment. It came with a converter included, but it is quite loosely fitted and I'm afraid it will accidentally leak ink inside the barrel. I haven't yet tried another converter or a cartridge (I assume it takes the standard ones).

The nib is very smooth and a pleasure to write with. The size is somewhere between fine and medium, and is just perfect for my personal handwriting style.

Has anyone else of you tried this pen? How does it compare with other Chinese made pens (Hero etc) ?

I have one and use it from time to time. My filler mechanisim looks loose also but it hasn't had a leak yet.

It is an astonishingly good pen for pocket change.

My biggest beef is the size and the "too-fine" nib. But if you like the size and the nib, it is a good find.

I have some Hero 100s too and they are about the same.

I have not used this brand though I have seen them in China. I have not been sufficiently atrtracted to them to actually buy one (when I am surrounded by Heros and Dukes). Heros run the gamut from very inexpensive (and not that good) to very expensive and very impressive. Dukes are also pretty good pens. My rather vague impression of the Dannitu is that they are sllightly below the mid to high range Heros and Dukes. I may be wrong though.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
